Amelia Morris is a photographer and mixed media artist exploring themes of identity, memory, and self-perception. Her work's autobiographical content is expressed through interests in literal and symbolic self-portraiture, a jarring relationship between image or object and written text, meditative gestures, and what Amelia lovingly calls "low-grade performance art."
Amelia received a Bachelor of Fine Arts with honors in Studio Art from Ball State University. Her photographs have been exhibited internationally and are included in collections at Ball State University and the Kinsey Institute for Research in Sex, Gender, and Reproduction. She is an active member of the Postcard Collective, an international mail art exchange group. Amelia was a Robert D. Beckmann, Jr. Emerging Artist Fellow through the Arts Council of Indianapolis and participant in their High Art Billboard project. She lives and works in Indianapolis.
